Gujarat Titans have sealed their berth for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in Qualifier 2 at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on May 29.

Chasing a huge target of 215, GT looked in control for most of the innings and completed the chase comfortably. The victory means Shubman Gill's side will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the title decider.

How did Sai Sudharsan dismissed in the last 2 IPL matches?

One of the biggest reasons behind GT's success was opener Sai Sudharsan, who continued his brilliant form with the bat. The left-hander played an attacking knock of 58 runs from only 32 deliveries and gave his team a strong start.

However, his innings ended in an unusual fashion. Sudharsan was dismissed hit-wicket while facing Brijesh Sharma in the 13th over. What made it even more surprising was that he had been dismissed in the same way in GT's previous match as well.

Speaking after the game, Sudharsan admitted that getting out hit-wicket in back-to-back matches was strange. He said he plans to make a few adjustments to his grip and spend time in practice to understand what went wrong.

"I'll try a few things and work on my grip. I'll bat for some time in practice and see how it feels. It's funny that it happened in two consecutive games. In the last match, the bat bounced and hit the stumps. This time, I was just trying to play the ball straight," he said after the match.

RCB vs GT IPL head-to-head

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) have met nine times in IPL history, with RCB holding a slight edge after winning five of those encounters. GT, meanwhile, have come out on top on four occasions.

The two teams have already faced each other three times in IPL 2026. RCB won the first and third meetings by 92 runs and five wickets respectively, while GT claimed the second clash with a four-wicket victory.

Interestingly, Gujarat's win over RCB came at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad which is the same venue that will host the IPL 2026 final.
