All-rounder Suryansh Shedge has been added to the India A squad as a replacement for Hardik Pandya for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia A in Puducherry.

Hardik was part of the original India A squad but his selection was subject to a fitness clearance. He has now been ruled out after failing to recover from a fresh injury concern.

Hardik is reportedly still experiencing pain while bowling. The latest setback means he will have to wait longer for a return to competitive cricket.

The all-rounder has been out of action since picking up an injury during IPL 2026 in May. He has also not played an ODI for India since the Champions Trophy final in March 2025.

Shedge gets another India A opportunity

Shedge, 23, gives India A another medium-pace bowling all-rounder in the squad. He has played three T20Is for India and has 15 List A appearances to his name, with almost half of those coming for India A.

The Mumbai all-rounder recently produced his best List A score when he made 72 off 66 balls for India A against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla in June.

Shedge came in at No. 7 and played a crucial knock in a high-scoring contest that eventually went into a Super Over.

Anukul Roy replaces Naman Dhir

There has been another change to the India A one-day squad, with left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Anukul Roy replacing Naman Dhir.

Dhir has now been moved into India’s T20I squad for the upcoming five-match series against the West Indies. He was brought in as a replacement for Washington Sundar.

Washington was part of India’s gold-medal-winning men’s cricket team at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. He could now turn out for Tamil Nadu in their 2026-27 Ranji Trophy opener against Rajasthan, subject to selection.

Gaikwad to captain India A

Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead India A in the three-match ODI series against Australia A, with Devdutt Padikkal named as his deputy.

Gaikwad was part of India’s ODI squad for the ongoing series against the West Indies.

Padikkal had captained India A in the earlier red-ball series against Australia A.

Two changes for Australia A

Australia A have also made two changes to their one-day squad.

Riley Meredith and Will Sutherland have been added to the squad, replacing Jack Edwards and Aaron Hardie.

Edwards left the Australia A setup last month to join Australia’s senior team in South Africa, where he made his ODI debut. Hardie, meanwhile, has been ruled out with a minor knee injury.
