India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to miss the upcoming three-match 50-over series between India A and Australia A in Puducherry next month.
Pandya has not played a competitive match since the end of IPL 2026. Despite that, the all-rounder was included in the India A squad picked by the BCCI selectors earlier this month.
However, a PTI report said Pandya is now unlikely to feature in the series against Australia A.
Hardik advised to rest after shin pain
According to the report, Pandya experienced pain in his right shin earlier this week and underwent a fresh round of scans.
The BCCI medical team is monitoring his condition and has advised him to rest. He is also expected to stay away from any physical activity for the next 10-15 days.
His latest setback has also raised doubts over his availability for India’s upcoming tour of New Zealand.

New Zealand series also in doubt
India are scheduled to travel to New Zealand in October for a packed white-ball and red-ball tour. The team will play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests.
Pandya could miss the T20I series, which begins on October 22. There is a possibility that the selectors could consider him only for the ODI series, depending on his recovery.
With Pandya being an important part of India’s white-ball plans and the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching, the selectors are unlikely to take any unnecessary risks with his return.
Suryansh Shedge could replace Pandya
The BCCI is expected to officially confirm Pandya’s injury in the coming days.
If he is ruled out, Mumbai all-rounder Suryansh Shedge could be considered as his replacement in the India A squad for the white-ball series against Australia A.
Shedge represents Punjab Kings in the IPL and has also played three T20Is for India. However, he has not been able to make a significant impact in those appearances so far.
