IPL 2025 Suspended: Delhi Capitals roped in star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc for a whopping amount of Rs 11.75 crore during the mega auction last year since he was let go by the defending champions KKR even though he was adjudged as the Player of the match award during the first qualifier and the summit clash last season. He has represented Delhi Capitals in all 12 matches till now and has taken 14 wickets.

Since the IPL 2025 has been suspended for one week, Starc flew back to Australia with Alyssa Healy. Speculations are rife that he won't come back to India once the ongoing season resumes on either May 16 or May 17th.

As per Australian media, Starc reached Sydney on Sunday and didn't interact with the reporters, but his manager told 9News that he might not go to India owing to political tensions.

According to Australian media, there are some Australian players, along with Mitchell Starc, who might not return to India to play in IPL 2025, but there is no clarity as to how such decisions made by the Australian players might affect their IPL 2025 contract.

“I think at the end of the day, we are talking about a game of cricket here. We are talking about people’s livelihoods, their mental health, as well as their physical health. That, to me, takes much greater precedence over money," ex-Australian cricketer Mark Taylor was quoted as saying to 9News.
