The Bangladesh Cricket Board revealed that the ICC has expressed its willingness to work closely and to address the problems about the team's participation in the upcoming mega event. These developments came after Bangladesh's star fast bowler, Mustafizur Rahman, was snubbed from IPL 2026.

This decision forced BCB to ask that their venue for the T20 World Cup matches be shifted to Sri Lanka, and they had also written to the ICC about the same.

"The Bangladesh Cricket Board has received a response from the ICC regarding the Board's expressed concerns over the safety and security of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in India for the ICC T20 World Cup, including the request for relocation of the team's matches," a statement released by the BCB said.

"In its communication, the ICC has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the full and uninterrupted participation of the Bangladesh team in the tournament. The ICC has conveyed its willingness to work closely with the BCB to address the concerns raised and has assured that the Board's inputs will be welcomed and duly considered as part of the detailed security planning for the event," it said.

The ICC hasn't replied to the BCB about this issue.

The 2026 T20 World Cup is all set to begin from February 7, where Bangladesh will be playing their 4 matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.
