IND vs ENG: The participation of premier batter Virat Kohli in the remainder of the Test series against England remains uncertain. The selection committee, led by chairman Ajit Agarkar, or BCCI's top officials are expected to discuss Kohli's plans with him soon.

Kohli had taken a sabbatical from the first two Tests, citing personal reasons related to the impending arrival of his second child, as confirmed by his ex-RCB teammate AB de Villiers.

A BCCI source revealed that Kohli will only return if he feels ready to play, citing priority given to family, as mentioned in the BCCI's press release.

Shreyas and Gill Under Scrutiny, Rahul's Possible Return Looms

Struggling batter Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer are facing scrutiny for their performance in the red ball format. Both players, have yet to score a fifty in their last nine Test innings. One of the two players might make way for KL Rahul returning for the third Test at Rajkot on February 15. Rahul missed the second Test due to a quadriceps injury.

With Sarfaraz Khan in good form, the pressure on Gill and Iyer is intensifying. Rahul's recovery is progressing well, increasing the likelihood of his return in the upcoming Test.

Concerns Over Shami and Jadeja's Participation

Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja face uncertainties regarding their participation in the Test series against England. Shami, currently in the UK for ankle treatment, is unlikely to feature in the series. Meanwhile, Jadeja, who suffered a hamstring strain during the first Test at Hyderabad, has been ruled out of the ongoing second Test.
