India will take on Ireland in the second and final T20I of the series on Sunday, June 28, at Stormont in Belfast. All eyes will be on explosive opener Abhishek Sharma, who is close to achieving a major milestone in T20I cricket.
If Abhishek opens the innings and hits two sixes within the first 36 balls he faces, he will become the fastest batter in T20I history to complete 100 sixes.
The left-handed batter has already smashed 98 sixes in T20Is while facing only 775 balls. He now needs just two more maximums to reach the 100-sixes mark. If he gets there within his next 36 deliveries, he will break the current world record.
At present, Austria's Karanbir Singh holds the record for the fastest 100 sixes in T20Is, having reached the milestone in 813 balls. Abhishek has a great chance to go past that record against Ireland.
Meanwhile, the overall record for the fastest 100 sixes in all T20 cricket belongs to young Indian batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old reached the landmark in only 515 balls and is also expected to make his international debut against Ireland.

If Abhishek reaches the 100-sixes milestone, he will become only the fifth Indian batter to hit 100 or more sixes in T20Is. He will join an elite list featuring Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.
Among Indian players, Rohit Sharma remains the leader with the most sixes in T20I history. The former India captain has smashed 205 sixes in 159 T20I matches, a record that still stands at the top.
