IND vs NED T20 World Cup 2026: Ex-India cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has heaped praises on Shivam Dube, who performed brilliantly both as a bowler and a batter during India's last group stage match against the Netherlands, and when the hosts were seen struggling initially. During that match, Dube scored a brilliant knock of 66 runs off 31 balls and also took two wickets and helped the team win the match by 17 runs, and that's why Srikkanth lauded him for his performance on his YouTube channel.

Srikkanth highlighted that Dube now looked fitter and how his improved fitness was helping him to control his skills.

“I believe he has gone to a dietician and developed muscle strength for bowling. There is a big difference between Dube we saw in the IPL and now. Even his face just looks slimmer," Srikkanth was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

“His hits are all clean with no mistimed shots. He (Dube) does not shuffle and remains still when hitting big. He is seemingly more focused," he added.

Dube's batting is all about natural hitting instead of playing some fancy shots, and that's why maintaining a balance on the crease is important. When he isn't moving, he tries to make a cleaner contact, and the same movement thus becomes dangerous.

“He (Dube) himself said that he worked on his fitness and technique. He also said that MS Dhoni gave him a lot of advice about not needing to always hit sixes off short balls and take singles," he added.

“A lot of homework has gone into it during the off-season. He (Dube) has practised a lot to the point where good length deliveries are being dispatched with ease," Srikkanth concluded.
