After a match-winning knock of 97 off 50 balls against West Indies in the Super 8s and 89 off 42 balls against England at Wankhede, he scored a 33-ball fifty in the final against New Zealand. With this feat, he became the second Indian, after KL Rahul, to hit three consecutive fifties. KL Rahul last achieved this in November 2022, with three half-centuries during the 2021 T20 World Cup.
During that edition, Rahul scored 69 against Afghanistan, 50 against Scotland, and 54 against Namibia.
Virat Kohli also scored three consecutive T20 World Cup half-centuries across two editions: 82* against Australia and 89 against West Indies in 2016, and 57 against Pakistan in the 2021 tournament opener.

Samson scored 89 off 46 balls in the final, bringing his tournament total to 321 runs over five matches. He is now India's highest run scorer in a single T20 World Cup edition, surpassing Virat Kohli, who scored 319 runs in six matches in 2014.
