IND vs PAK: India secured a thumping victory by seven-wickets over their arch-rivals Pakistan at the ODI World Cup 2023 in a one-sided contest. India's captain, Rohit Sharma, played a star role with a masterful 86, leading his team to chase down Pakistan's modest 192 with ease.
India's bowlers, including Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep, Pandya, and Jadeja, were relentless in their pursuit, decimating Pakistan for just 191 in the first innings. This win was India's eighth consecutive victory over Pakistan in the World Cup, reaffirming their superior skill, strategy, and execution in these encounters.
In the post-match presentation, Indian captain Rohit praised his bowlers for their remarkable performance in dismissing Pakistan for a mere 191 runs in the World Cup match.

"The bowlers were the ones who set the game up for us. I don't think it was a 190 kind of pitch. At one stage, we were looking at 280," Rohit said.
"The way they (bowlers) showed grit says a lot. That is something we pride ourselves in. Whoever gets the ball does the job for the team," Rohit added.
The ‘Hitman’ acknowledged that the pitch was not particularly bowler-friendly but commended the determination of the bowlers. Rohit emphasised India's strength in having multiple bowlers capable of delivering.

"We've got six individuals who can do the job with the ball. My job as a captain is important there as well. It's to read the conditions and figure out who's the right guy to do the job," the Indian captain said.
He also credited his batters for their consistent form. Rohit stressed the importance of maintaining balance and focus as they face high-quality opposition, underlining the need to perform well on the given day.
"It's only because the guys - before entering the World Cup - they got a lot of runs. We were very clear (about) what we wanted to do. We didn't want to be in two minds about who's going to bat where," Rohit remarked.
"All in all, it's looking good. I want to keep my fingers crossed, and don't want to get too excited. I don't want to get too low as well. We want to stay balanced, keep calm and keep moving forward. Every opposition we come up against is all quality. You have to play well on that particular day, and that's what we're looking at," he concluded.
India will next play against Bangladesh on October 19 at MCA International Stadium, Pune.
