The ex-India skipper, under whom they had won the title in 2024, was seen talking to the Indian team before the clash.

Who won the toss in IND vs PAK?
India skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha didn't shake hands yet again at the toss. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in a match which was only confirmed earlier this week after the Pakistani government had threatened to boycott the match.
Pakistan remained unchanged from their last game as defending champions India reinstated Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, who have recovered from their injuries, in place of Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh for the crucial match. Abhishek had been hospitalised in New Delhi due to a stomach infection and missed the game against Namibia while recovering.
India has won seven out of their eight Men’s T20 World Cup encounters against Pakistan, with Pakistan’s sole victory occurring in 2021 when openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan led them to a 10-wicket win in Dubai. At this venue, all three World Cup matches have been won by the team batting first.
In his pitch report, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja mentioned that concerns about rain disrupting the game had diminished, with weather conditions remaining stable. He noted that the straight boundary measures 84 metres, while the square boundaries are 70 and 74 metres respectively.
Both sides remain unbeaten in Group A, with India leading the standings thanks to a superior net run rate. India overcame a slow start against the United States of America (USA) in their opening game in Mumbai before comfortably defeating Namibia in New Delhi. Meanwhile, Pakistan, which is based in Colombo, struggled to get past the Netherlands but delivered a more confident performance in their victory over the USA.
