IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: India's star batter Shreyas Iyer is considered one of the most settled no.4 batters in the 50-over format. He scored 500 runs during the 2023 World Cup and played a huge role in helping India qualify for the summit clash. With the Champions Trophy just days away, he is in sublime form once again. He smashed a quick half-century during the series opener and was on the verge of scoring another fifty but then was involved in a run-out.

Shreyas was dismissed on the last ball of the 37th over. Adil Rashid had bowled a fuller delivery and Axar Patel smashed the ball towards the leg side. He did step out of the crease, but couldn't see the ball any longer. But Shreyas had already left the field as the ball went down the track and when he realized that Axar wasn't running anymore, it was too late.

Shreyas did try to get back to the crease but Jos Buttler quickly caught the ball and threw it directly towards the bowler's end. Adil Rashid removed the bails with the ball as Shreyas was still not in his crease. Shreyas did get frustrated as he was in sublime form and gave Axar a stern look as Axar too was disappointed.

Shreyas's dismissal helped England bounce back for a while but the hosts were still in a commanding position, owing to Rohit Sharma's match-winning century. England posted a target of 304 runs on the back of Ben Duckett and Joe Root's half-centuries. The Rohit Sharma-led side has taken an unassailable lead after winning the second ODI in Cuttack.
