India Squad For South Africa Series: The 22-year-old batting all-rounder Anushka Sharma and seamer Kashvee Gautam on Tuesday handed maiden India call-ups for the five-match away T20I series against South Africa, beginning on April 17.
Durban, Johannesburg and Benoni will host the series.
“The Women’s Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I away series against South Africa,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement.

Anushka has been making waves in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 with her impressive batting skills. She was acquired by Gujarat Giants for Rs 45 lakh and made an immediate impact, smashing 44 runs from 30 balls in her debut match against UP Warriorz. She was also a part of the India A squad in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Bangkok last month.
Kashvee featured for the Gujarat Giants team in the WPL, having played 18 games for them in which she snapped up 19 wickets. Kashvee has played Test and ODIs for India.
Uma Chetry has been included in the squad, alongside other changes, while Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, G Kamalini, and Amanjot Kaur have been left out of the team that recently faced Australia.

The series is part of India's preparations for the T20 World Cup in the UK in June-July.
