IPL 2025 Suspended: The IPL 2025 has been suspended for one week, and that has left the future of the ongoing season hanging in the balance. Since there have been growing security concerns owing to the military tension between India and Pakistan, the BCCI on Friday revealed that the tournament has been stopped for seven days. This decision was made after the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned in Dharamshala owing to air raid alerts being heard in Jammu and Pathankot.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side were inching closer towards becoming the first team to have qualified for the playoffs if the match had finished properly. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabsimran Singh gave the hosts a flying start as they were 122/1 after 10.1 overs, and that's when the match was suspended.

As per IPL's official website, the points table remains unchanged after the match was abandoned owing to security reasons. Punjab Kings are currently lying in their third position after winning seven matches of the 11 that they have played till now, whereas Delhi Capitals are lying at the fifth position, after winning six matches of as many matches played.

The security concerns increased after political tension between India and Pakistan escalated. The Indian Army attacked the terrorist camps in Pakistan and POK in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.

The overseas players, who play a huge part in the IPL, have also expressed their concerns about security. As per PTI, a lot of franchises have admitted that their overseas players want to return to their home countries as soon as possible. The PSL has also shifted its matches to the UAE.

Now that the ongoing season of the IPL is suspended, the BCCI revealed that they would first analyse the situation and then take a decision on the schedule of the remaining matches.
