IPL 2026 Auction: Cameron Green, Australia's star all-rounder, is all set and confirmed to bowl in the upcoming IPL 2026. Having registered himself as a batter in the IPL 2026 auction, Green cleared the test before himself announcing the update. Green, who is expected to be in huge demand at the much-awaited mini auction, said that his manager had a ‘stuff-up’ and ‘accidentally’ registered him as a batter.

Green is considered one of the most promising all-rounders and has the ability to change the course of the game with both bat and bowl. Having been registered as a batter in the auction, there was a lot of discussion over his availability.

"I'll be good to bowl," Green said before Australia's training session in Adelaide on Sunday, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “I don't know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end. He didn't mean to say ‘batter'. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box. It was pretty funny how it's all played out, but it was actually a stuff-up on his end."

Green, who has already been represented in all three formats despite his injury issues lately, also said that he will be following the IPL 2026 auction and keeping a close eye on which team he ends up in ahead of the new season. "I'm sure I will be [watching], with a few other guys. They're always good fun to watch. It's a bit of a lottery where you might go, but also who might be in your team, so it's always been fun to watch," Green said.

The 26-year-old has been registered at a base price of Rs 2 crore. He will be the first six players to go under the hammer. He is even expected to become the most expensive player during the mini auction, with some predicting that he could even Rs 27 crore record set by Rishabh Pant last year as the batters come ahead in the order.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan lauded Green's ability to make a huge impact and said that the KKR could go for the Aussie, aiming to replace Andre Russell.

"Cameron Green is a top-quality all-rounder, and with KKR entering the auction with a sizeable purse, they'll surely target him. With Andre Russell retired, Green offers a like-for-like replacement -- someone who can contribute with both bat and ball, though he'll probably bat a bit higher in the order. I expect CSK to show interest too," Pathan said.
