KKR vs SRH IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders will be relying heavily on their spinners to help them bounce back when they lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad during their next IPL match on Thursday, where both teams will try to make a brilliant comeback after losing their tournament opener. The upcoming clash will mark an important phase of home matches for KKR, as they will play three consecutive matches within a week, then take a long break owing to the state assembly elections. They will then play four away matches and will play their next match at home on 16th May at the Eden Gardens, where the Kolkata-based franchise has won 54 of 95 matches.

But their campaign has been hugely affected by bowling issues. Harshit Rana and Aakash Deep getting injured, along with Matheesha Pathirana being unavailable, and Cameron Green's limited role have only weakened their bowling lineup. It was quite evident during their tournament opener, when they couldn't defend a mammoth target of 220 runs against MI.

Their biggest concern is the form of their spinners, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, as both of them failed to make significant contributions with the ball. On a pitch, which might help both the pacers and the spinners, their comeback will play a huge role.

The Kolkata-based franchise might also include Rovman Powell in their XI to strengthen it, since Green might now bowl again as part of workload management.

SRH also has similar concerns. They might have an explosive bowling attack with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Travis Head, but their bowling does look weak in regular captain Pat Cummins' absence, who hasn't regained full fitness yet. They, too, failed to defend the target of 201 runs in their tournament opener, exposing their lack of control.

Both sides have explosive batting attacks, but are not balanced, and will be dependent on their bowlers to rise to the occasion, as they will aim to register their first win this year.

As per him, the pitch provides more hold than a sharp turn and will assist both batters and seamers instead of just spinners.
