IPL 2025 Highlights, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Win By 12 Runs In High-scoring Thriller

Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in the IPL 2025 match 20 at the Wankhede Stadium. Krunal Pandya gave away just 6 runs in the final over while defending 19. He ended with the match-winning bowling figures of 4/45. Virat Kohli (67), skipper Rajat Patidar (64), and Jitesh Sharma (40*) were the other star performers alongside the bowling department. This is RCB's third win in the ongoing season.

Wicket! Tilak Varma departs after playing a remarkable knock of 56 runs in 29 balls. However, MI are still in this as they need 28 runs in the last two overs.

MI LIVE Score: 194/5 (18)

Hardik Pandya was at his very best and was just dealing in boundaries as Krunal Pandya was smashed for 19 runs in the over. MI still need special effort to chase this down.

MI LIVE Score: 157/4 (15)

Wicket! Mumbai Indians are in huge trouble now as they have lost the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. Yash Dayal will take a huge sigh of relief as Livingstone makes no mistake with the catch. MI go four down as Suryakumar departs for 28.

MI LIVE Score: 97/4 (12)

Wicket! The partnership has been broken and Krunal Pandya strikes against his former team as he removes Jacks for 22 with Virat making no mistake in the deep. MI go three down in this challenging run chase.

MI LIVE Score: 84/3 (10)

Wicket! Another wicket and both the MI openers are back in the dugout. That was brilliant from Jitesh who was incredibly sure of that ball pitching on the line. There are the three reds and Hazlewood has got his first wicket of the match. Rickelton departs for 17 runs and MI are two down now.

MI LIVE Score: 38/2 (4)

Wicket! That is a massive breakthrough early in the innings for RCB as Yash Dayal delivers a peach to remove Rohit Sharma or just 17 runs.

MI LIVE Score: 25/1 (2)

With just over left and that is being bowled by Bumrah, RCB have a reached an above par score here at the Wankhede. Can they take it over 220?

The partnership of Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar can take RCB to a huge score. Even beyond 220 looks realistic at this point. Tim David, Krunal Pandya in the dugout to follow. 50 for Patidar.

HUGE WICKET FOR MI as Hardik Pandya gets Virat Kohli as the former RCB captain gets a top edge and Naman Dhir takes an easy catch. RCB 143/3 (14.1)

Even though the run-rate has dipped below 10 an over, RCB won't be much bothered considering they have lost just 2 wickets on this surface. However, they need 200+ to pose a threat to MI.

Devdutt Padikkal who was complementing Virat Kohli incredibly well with his aggressive play, departs after scoring 37 off 22. Vignesh Puthur picks up the first wicket breaking the stand for Mumbai.

One of the most proactive powerplays for RCB and that too against Mumbai Indians at their den. Mumbai need a wicket soon else the carnage won't stop.

Jasprit Bumrah is greeted with a six off the front foot by Virat Kohli. A sight to behold for the crowd. This is incredible advertisment for world cricket.

An eventful first over comes to an end. Phil Salt started his innings with a boundary, only to get bowled on the next delivery in an incredible comeback from Trent Boult.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's opening pair of Virat Kohli and Phil Salt are in the middle. Trent Boult to start the proceedings for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first here at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Virat Kohli has blown hot and cold as he began this IPL with 59 not out against KKR but since then has struggled.
But RCB have enough firepower in their ranks to keep pushing for bigger totals, with Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal providing fireworks and skipper Rajat Patidar the necessary cushion if things are going against them.

MI's only win so far came last week over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede, and they would need an encore.
For the visiting Royal Challengers, it would be an opportunity to exploit MI's batting frailties and pile up further pressure on their opponents.

Despite skipper Hardik Pandya's five-for, LSG accumulated a total which was beyond MI as they lacked a hard-hitting batter lower down the order. Pandya struck a valiant 16-ball 28 but did not get support from the other end.

With 177 runs to his kitty, the India T20I captain has been MI' best batter this season. His half-century gave MI a glimmer of hope against LSG, but it corresponded with Tilak's failure to accelerate which left the lower-order with an uphill task in the chase.

At the centre of MI's struggles with the bat are former skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the last game against Lucknow Super Giants due to a blow to his knee at the nets after a poor start to the IPL, and middle-order batter Tilak Varma, who has not converted his starts into big scores.

Scoring fifties has always been tough in T20 cricket, but IPL teams have increasingly moved towards being top-heavy with their best batters getting most overs to bat.

But with three defeats in four games marking yet another poor start for the five-time winners, Mumbai Indians are grappling with batting woes. Only two MI batters have hit half-centuries so far in four matches -- Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton.

Mumbai Indians' worries on the bowling front might have subsided a bit with Jasprit Bumrah set for a comeback, but they will hope for their batters to get the act together against an inspired Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
