Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legendary wicketkeeper batter MS Dhoni will not be seen in Delhi during the team's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 outing against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. Dhoni, who is currently on the road to recovery from a calf injury, has not travelled with the team; he has stayed back in Chennai, where he continues to undergo rehabilitation for a calf injury.
Will MS Dhoni play any match in IPL 2026?
There are speculations about whether MS Dhoni will feature in any of the matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. However, Cricbuzz quoted a CSK official who confirmed that Dhoni is not match-ready, but the franchise officials have not ruled out him playing a game in the ongoing season. He should be seen featuring for the franchise at some stage.

CSK's upcoming matches
After featuring in Delhi, the Chennai-based franchise will host Lucknow Super Giants on May 10, followed by the return leg against Rishabh Pant's side in Lucknow on May 15. They then host Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 18 before travelling to Ahmedabad for their final league match of the season against Gujarat Titans on May 21. Dhoni has not played a single game this season. In fact, his last IPL game was against GT almost a year back, on May 25, 2025.

CSK's performance in IPL 2026
CSK are currently sixth on the IPL 2026 points table with four wins in their nine outings. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side won their last match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals are currently seventh in the points table with four wins in nine matches.
