T20 World Cup 2026 Points Table: The eleventh day of the ongoing mega event started with the New Zealand vs Canada clash at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. While batting first, Canada posted a respectable target of 173 runs on the back of a brilliant century of Yuvraj Samra. The youngster had scored 110 runs off 65 balls and had become the first Associate nation batter to have smashed a ton in this tournament. He had also become the mega event's youngest centurion.
The Kiwi had a slow start to their chase as they were reeling at 30\2. But Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips stitched a match-winning partnership and helped the team chase the target in 15.1 overs. Ravindra had smashed 59 runs off 39 balls, whereas Phillips scored 76 off 36 balls. This win helped New Zealand become the second team from Group D to reach the Super 8s.
The second match was held between Zimbabwe and Ireland in Pallekele. It was washed out due to incessant rain. This washed-out match grabbed the attention of everyone as it eliminated Australia in the group stage.
The Mitchell Marsh-led side lost to teams like Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, and in order to stay alive for the race to Super 8s, they were hoping for Ireland to beat Zimbabwe. But this couldn't happen, and Zimbabwe became the second team after Sri Lanka to reach the next round.
The last match of the day was held between Nepal and Scotland at the Wankhede Stadium. Scotland had posted a mammoth target of 170, where opener Michael Jones scored a brilliant knock of 71 runs off 45 balls. But Nepal's Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee made sure to take the team across the line.
