Australia have announced their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball series against England, with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood among the notable absentees.

The experienced pace trio has been rested following Australia's disappointing Test series defeat against South Africa as the team prepares for a demanding home summer.

Mitchell Marsh will captain both squads for the eight-match assignment, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning November 13 in Perth.

The selection committee has also handed opportunities to several youngsters, including Mahli Beardman, Oliver Peake, Jack Edwards and Liam Scott in the ODI squad. Nikhil Chaudhary, Joel Davies, Sam Harper and Lachlan Shaw have earned places in the T20I squad.

Why Are Star Pacers Rested For England Series?

Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood have been rested to manage their workload ahead of Australia's upcoming Test assignments against New Zealand and India.

Australia will host New Zealand in a four-match Test series starting December 9 in Perth before travelling to India for a five-match Test series in January.

Explaining the selection strategy, chief selector George Bailey highlighted Australia's demanding international schedule and the importance of keeping multi-format players physically and mentally fresh.

"We are in the middle of a highly demanding phase of our schedule," Bailey said.

He added that the limited recovery period between the South Africa tour and the upcoming Test series made individual workload management important.

Australia are also coming off a 2-1 Test series defeat against South Africa, which ended their two-year stay at the top of the ICC Test rankings.

Matt Renshaw, Cameron Green Return To ODI Squad

Matt Renshaw and Cameron Green are among the notable selections in Australia's 14-member ODI squad. They will be joined by Travis Head, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis and Cooper Connolly, who featured in the recent Test series against South Africa.

Youngsters Mahli Beardman and Oliver Peake have also been included, alongside Jack Edwards and Liam Scott.

For the T20I series, Australia have opted for a different combination. Several established players selected for the ODIs will be rested, while Sam Harper and Lachlan Shaw provide fresh options.

Nathan Ellis, who missed the ODI selection while recovering from a side strain, has been included in the T20I squad.
