India head coach Gautam Gambhir shared a two-word message on social media after India defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the third T20I on Tuesday. The win gave India an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Gambhir’s post came after a dominant performance from the Indian team, with Abhishek Sharma stealing the show with his explosive batting. The left-handed opener smashed the New Zealand bowlers all around the park to help India complete a comfortable chase.

Gautam Gambhir’s Two-Word Message After India’s Win

Gambhir took to X on Tuesday evening and shared a brief message that caught the attention of cricket fans.

“Stay Humble,” Gambhir wrote.

The post came after India’s impressive win, with Abhishek producing one of the finest knocks of his T20I career. The victory also gave Gambhir and his coaching staff a much-needed boost after India drew their previous five-match T20I series against the West Indies 2-2. The deciding match of that series was washed out.

Abhishek Sharma Powers India To Series Win

Chasing a target of 199, India got off to a flying start, thanks to Abhishek’s aggressive approach. The opener scored 113 runs off just 38 balls, hitting 11 sixes and nine fours.

He reached his half-century in just 15 deliveries, putting pressure on the New Zealand bowling attack from the start. India eventually reached the target in just 13.2 overs, winning by 40 balls.

Abhishek’s innings was the biggest highlight of the match, as India secured their third consecutive victory in the series.

Daryl Mitchell Leads New Zealand’s Fightback

Earlier, Daryl Mitchell played a brilliant knock of 89 off 52 balls to help New Zealand post 198/3 in their 20 overs.

After India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl, Arshdeep Singh gave the visitors an early breakthrough by dismissing Tim Seifert.

However, Finn Allen and Mitchell fought back with an attacking partnership. Allen scored 40 off 25 balls, and the pair added 86 runs for the second wicket.

Allen also targeted Bhuvneshwar Kumar, smashing two huge sixes off the seasoned pacer as New Zealand tried to build a big total.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Looks For Confidence Boost

Bhuvneshwar had another forgetful outing with the ball, conceding 40 runs without taking a wicket. However, his final over, the 18th of the New Zealand innings, was more encouraging as he managed to execute his yorkers effectively.

The over could help the pacer regain some confidence as India look to maintain their winning run in the remaining matches.

Despite Mitchell’s impressive innings, India’s bowlers managed to restrict New Zealand to 198/3. Abhishek then took charge of the chase, ensuring India sealed the series in emphatic fashion.
