In a shameful display, an unnamed Pakistan player has been reportedly fined for misbehaving with a female staff member during their stay at a hotel in Kandy, Sri Lanka, during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup matches. As per a report, Pakistan Cricket Team manager Navaid Cheema was forced to fine the player as a consequence. The report in Telecom Asia Sport stated that the incident took place before Pakistan's final Super Eight game against Sri Lanka, who co-hosted the tournament along with India.
The report also stated that the staff had to resort to 'shouting' for help as the furious hotel staff escalated the matter to the team manager, Cheema.
"Before Pakistan's last Super Eight match against Sri Lanka, a Pakistan World Cup squad player misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member," a source was quoted as saying by Telecom Asia Sport.

"The staff shouted and called for help, at which the hotel staff came to her rescue and reported the matter to Pakistan team manager Navaid Cheema," the report said, quoting team sources.
Cheema Had To Apologise On Player's Behalf
"The top management of Golden Crown Hotel wanted the matter to be dealt with strongly, but Cheema apologised on behalf of the player and fined him for misbehaviour," said Telecom Asia Sport in the report.
Although Pakistan secured victory in that match by a margin of five runs, the team did not advance to the semifinals due to net run-rate and was sent home in groups on Sunday and Monday.
The player in question is also expected to appear before the disciplinary committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and may face additional penalties.
Pakistani players and support staff have a history of inappropriate behavior during tours.
