Pakistan’s fast bowler Asad Akhtar drew the limelight with his very odd-looking no-ball during the National T20 Cup match - the men's professional domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Pakistan - for Karachi Blues against Lahore Blues at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

During the match against Lahore Blues, the right-arm speedster conceded 21 runs in the only over he bowled.

In his only over, Akhtar delivered two wides and two no-balls, but what particularly caught the attention of many was a massive no-ball. His front foot was too far away from the bowling crease, and in a video circulating on social media, his back foot looked close to the line.

The delivery brought back the dark memories for Pakistan fans of former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir’s infamous no-ball against England in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal at Lord’s. Many fans on social media drew similarities between the two famous deliveries.

Luckily, Akhtar’s expensive over did not derail Karachi Blues’ victory campaign as they cruised to a 57-run win on Saturday. For Karachi, Jahandad Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani hogged the spotlight with four wickets apiece, bundling Lahore Blues for 149 in 17.3 overs while defending 206.
