IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have won two of their five matches in the ongoing season till now, have been given a timely boost as their regular captain Pat Cummins will be undergoing a fitness test on Wednesday and is expected to return to India on 17th April. And if the test goes according to plan, the Hyderabad-based franchise will get a huge boost with the return of their regular captain.

Cummins has been recovering from a lumbar stress injury picked up last summer. In his absence, Ishan Kishan has led the team.

They defeated Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs to register their second win of IPL 2026 on Monday, with Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain performing brilliantly by taking four-fers.

The hosts set a target of 216, with Ishan Kishan scoring 91. Hinge and Hussain took four wickets each as they dismissed the Rajasthan Royals for 159.

The Hyderabad-based franchise, which lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in its tournament opener, made a brilliant comeback against Kolkata Knight Riders.

They then lost to Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings in their next two matches, before defeating the Riyan Parag-led side in their fifth match of this season.
