IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad have got a huge boost in the ongoing season of the IPL as their regular skipper Pat Cummins has passed the fitness test and will be joining the Hyderabad-based franchise in a few days. Cummins, who has landed in India before IPL 2026, hasn't played in a single match so far. He also returned to Australia after their huge win against the Kolkata Knight Riders to undergo a back scan. According to ESPNCricinfo, scans conducted in Sydney have revealed that he has fully recovered and will return to competitive action soon.

Cummins might next be seen in action on 25th April during their IPL 2026 match against the Rajasthan Royals. The star Australian pacer has also hinted on his social media account that he will be returning to India and rejoining the team soon.

He hasn't been seen in action in competitive cricket after the Ashes Test series against the Ben Stokes-led side. He also missed the 2026 T20 World Cup, where Australia made its first group-stage exit.

Ishan Kishan has been leading the team from the front in his absence. Under his leadership, they have won two of the five matches they have played so far. They are in fourth place in the points table, with a positive NRR of 0.576.

The Ishan Kishan-led side had beaten the Rajasthan-based franchise during their last match on the back of a brilliant bowling performance shown by debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain as they registered four-fers apiece. It helped the team skittle RR out for just 159 runs while chasing a huge target of 217 runs.

The former champions will lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings during their next match later this week in Hyderabad.
