RCB vs GT, IPL 2026: Bhuvneshwar Kumar Surpasses IPL Greats With Stunning Record in Qualifier 1

India veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar continued his brilliant form for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Indian Premier League 2026 and achieved a special milestone on during Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The experienced pacer became the first Indian bowler to take 25 wickets in an IPL season for two different teams.

Earlier, Bhuvneshwar had taken 26 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2017 season. Playing for RCB this year, he needed just one wicket against Gujarat Titans to reach the 25-wicket mark again. He achieved it in style by dismissing GT captain Shubman Gill on the very first ball of his second over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada reached the same milestone during Qualifier 1

Before Bhuvneshwar, only Kagiso Rabada had achieved this feat in the IPL. Rabada has taken 25 or more wickets in a season while playing for different franchises, including Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans. Interestingly, he also reached the milestone earlier in the same match.
