Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already made a name for himself with his fearless and explosive batting despite being just 15 years old. While the young Indian opener has shown an aggressive side whenever he walks out to bat, India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer believes there is a completely different Vaibhav away from the cricket field.
Iyer revealed that the teenage batter has what can be described as “two personalities”; one that fans see on the field and another that emerges away from the game.
According to the India captain, Vaibhav is calm and innocent off the field, while his aggressive batting persona comes alive once he steps between the wickets.

Shreyas Iyer On Vaibhav’s Two Personalities
Iyer said he makes a conscious effort to speak to Vaibhav about life away from cricket because the youngster is constantly surrounded by conversations about his batting and talent.
“I talk to Vaibhav about what he does outside the field because everyone talks to him about cricket. We know how talented he is. So I talk to him about things outside the field. I try to know about his family, what he does and what he doesn't do. When he talks about those things, he brings himself out,” Iyer said while speaking to JioHotstar.
The India captain then highlighted the striking contrast between Vaibhav's personality away from cricket and his approach with the bat.
“He is a very calm person, but on the field he is a very explosive batter. When you see him, a different side comes out. He is very innocent,” Iyer added.
‘When His Time Comes, He Will Rule The World’
Vaibhav has already attracted enormous attention at a remarkably young age. After making an impact in the IPL, he has continued to showcase his attacking approach in Indian colours.
Iyer believes the teenager still has plenty of time to establish himself permanently in the senior side. With experienced World Cup-winning openers around him, the India captain feels Vaibhav can wait for his opportunity rather than rushing his development.
“I know his time will come because we are playing with World Cup-winning openers and he deserves a place in the team. When his time comes, he will rule the world,” Iyer said.
The comments underline the belief within the Indian setup that Vaibhav has the talent to become a major player in the years ahead. At just 15, however, the youngster remains at the beginning of what could be a long international career.

Vaibhav Part Of India’s Asian Games Gold
Vaibhav was also part of India's successful campaign at the Asian Games 2026, where Shreyas Iyer's side retained the men's T20 cricket gold medal.
India defeated Pakistan in the gold-medal match to secure their second consecutive Asian Games title. Vaibhav featured in the final and continued to gain valuable experience alongside several established names in the squad.
