Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan shared an emotional message for Sunil Narine after the spinner reached a special milestone in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Narine recently became part of the 200-wicket club in the IPL. He also made history by becoming the first bowler to reach this mark while playing for just one franchise.

Shah Rukh Khan for Sunil Narine
After the match between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shah Rukh Khan took to X and praised Narine, calling him a “magician” for the team.

SRH vs KKR match report
Coming to the match, KKR put in a strong all-round performance to beat SRH by seven wickets. SRH started well after being asked to bat, with Travis Head attacking early and Ishan Kishan supporting him. They looked set for a big total during the power play. But KKR’s bowlers, especially their spinners, pulled things back nicely and shifted the momentum in their favour. While chasing, KKR’s batters stayed calm and chased the target comfortably to seal a solid win.
Narine's contribution for KKR since making debut
Narine has taken 201 wickets in 197 IPL matches, with an average of 25.53, including one five-wicket haul. He is currently the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, behind Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal.
He reached the 200-wicket mark during a match against SRH, where he picked up two wickets for 31 runs as Hyderabad were bowled out for 165.
Narine has been a key player for KKR since joining them in 2012. Over the years, he has built a reputation for his tight bowling, control, and ability to take important wickets at any stage of the game.
He played a big role in KKR’s title wins in 2012, 2014, and 2024. He has also won the Most Valuable Player award twice and picked up the Purple Cap in 2012.
