DC vs RCB IPL 2026: Ex-BCCI selector Kris Srikkanth criticized the Delhi Capitals after their latest batting collapse against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where they were dismissed for just 75 runs. Bengaluru chased the target in 6.3 overs, handing DC their third consecutive loss.

DC faced Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, who produced swing and bounce. DC's top six batters were dismissed after scoring just seven runs in the power play. They were reeling at 13/6 and had registered the lowest score by any side in the history of the tournament during the first six overs.

The Axar Patel-led side was skittled out for 75 runs in 16.3 overs. It was their third-lowest total in history and the second-lowest in Delhi in this tournament. The reigning champions chased the target in just 39 balls, losing only one wicket.

Srikkanth criticized the DC batters in a video on his YouTube channel, specifically addressing their inconsistent performances this season.

“It’s been ages since Tristan Stubbs scored something substantial. Nitish Rana is a gone case when you bounce him. Sameer Rizvi struggles against fast or medium-fast bowling early on. If he gets set after attacking spin, then he can manage pacers. (David) Miller has also done nothing impactful," Srikkanth was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

Srikkanth continued his criticism, pointing out specific shortcomings in Axar Patel and noting that Patel has not performed well as a batter, bowler, or skipper this season.

He said Axar Patel has not contributed with the bat recently and, as an all-rounder and captain, has not made decisive impacts with either the bat or ball. Srikkanth questioned how the team could progress if this pattern continues.

He has scored just 31 runs in the ongoing season and has taken seven wickets after playing eight matches.

The Axar Patel-led side had a flying start this year, winning their first two matches. They lost their third match against the Shubman Gill-led side and never recovered. The team lost to the Chennai Super Kings in their next game. They bounced back for a while and defeated RCB at their backyard. However, they suffered three consecutive losses and now lie seventh in the points table.

They will lock horns with the Riyan Parag-led side during their next match in Jaipur.
