MI vs RR IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals' star opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, in their last group stage match, has etched history by shattering the record for the most runs in a T20 tournament as a teenager. Sooryavanshi, who battled through his 14th match against the Hardik Pandya-led side in Mumbai, has amassed 581 runs in the ongoing season.
He raced to score two more runs to surpass the world record, launching his knock from the first ball and cracking his second run off the second delivery, bowled by Will Jacks.
Devdutt Padikkal holds the record for scoring the most runs in a T20 series as a teenager. Padikkal had scored 580 runs while representing Karnataka during the 2019/20 SMAT.

He has powered himself as the Rajasthan-based franchise's highest run-scorer this year and currently dominates the top position in the list of batters who have blasted the most sixes till now (53). If he could have hammered seven more sixes this year, he could have broken the record of smashing the most sixes in one edition of this tournament. Currently, Chris Gayle owns this record.
He had detonated 59 sixes while representing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru during IPL 2012.
Vaibhav had blazed his way to become the first Indian batter to have smashed 50 or more sixes during a single T20 series. He reached this milestone in their previous match against the Rishabh Pant-led side.
