Indian veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has spent more than 17 years in international cricket and has shared the dressing room with some of the greatest players the game has ever seen. From Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, Jadeja has played alongside several legends for India.
His IPL journey has been just as remarkable. Over the years, he has been teammates with stars like Shane Warne, Shane Watson, Brendon McCullum, Michael Hussey, Ben Stokes, Mahela Jayawardene and Faf du Plessis.
Despite playing with so many great batters, Jadeja had no doubts when asked to choose one player to bat for his life.
In a recent video shared by Rajasthan Royals on social media, Jadeja was asked which batter he would trust the most in such a situation. His answer was simple: former India captain and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni.
Jadeja and Dhoni have shared a long and successful partnership. Jadeja played more than 100 international matches and over 100 IPL games under Dhoni’s captaincy for Chennai Super Kings. Their strong bond extends beyond cricket as well.
Before becoming CSK captain ahead of IPL 2022, Jadeja also served as Dhoni’s vice-captain for a few seasons.
When the conversation turned to his favourite moment in Indian cricket, Jadeja did not pick a famous win or a personal milestone. Instead, he chose the day he received his first Test cap from Sachin Tendulkar.

Jadeja made his ODI and T20I debut in 2009, but had to wait until December 13, 2012, to play his first Test. He made his debut against England in Nagpur and enjoyed a memorable start, taking three wickets in the match and scoring 12 runs in his first innings.
Jadeja also looked back at India’s triumph in the 2013 Champions Trophy, calling it his favourite title-winning memory. India defeated England in a thrilling final, and Jadeja was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
