The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are one of the most followed franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After years of heartbreak and near misses, the Bengaluru-based side finally ended their long wait for silverware by lifting their maiden IPL title in 2025, defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final.
While the triumph sparked celebrations among fans across the country, the victory parade in Bengaluru was overshadowed by tragedy. During the team’s celebrations outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, a crowd crush claimed 11 lives, prompting authorities and the franchise to adopt stricter crowd-management measures for future events.
