Rohit Sharma said it was a memorable moment to play his 400th international match alongside Virat Kohli, with whom he has shared most of his journey in Indian cricket.
The India captain said batting with Kohli has always been special because they know each other's game so well. Over the years, the duo have built a strong understanding at the crease by regularly discussing plans and exchanging ideas during their partnerships and have won a lot of matches for India.

The milestone came in the third and final ODI against England at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground on Sunday, where Rohit and Kohli walked out to bat together.
"We played our entire career together [referring to Virat Kohli], so it was nice to have him in the middle. You know, we've had a lot of partnerships. It's always fun batting together. We understand each other so much. And yeah, it's always nice in the middle, bouncing off ideas, trying to see what we can do. So there was a lot of conversation that was going around in between when we were batting," Sharma said in a video posted by BCCI on X.
Rohit and Kohli have already retired from T20 Internationals and Test cricket. ODI cricket is now the only international format they continue to play.

While chasing a big target against England, Rohit played an outstanding innings of 138 from 110 balls. He also shared a 113-run stand with Kohli, giving India hope of pulling off a difficult chase.
Although India eventually lost the match by 27 runs at Lord's, Rohit's century was the standout performance for the visitors and showed he is still capable of delivering on the biggest stage amid speculations around his international retirement.
