CBSE Launches Free Counselling For Class 10 And 12 Students Ahead Of 2026 Board Exams

The CBSE has launched a free psycho-social counselling service for Class 10 and 12 students, running from January 6 to June 1, 2026, to help them manage exam stress. Students can access 24 by 7 guidance from trained professionals via a toll-free number or tele-counselling, supporting their mental balance and overall well-being.

CBSE Launches Free Counselling For Class 10 And 12 Students Ahead Of 2026 Board Exams
The CBSE has launched a psycho-social counselling service for students of Class 10 and 12.

To assist students in preparing for the upcoming board examinations with mental balance and confidence, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched its annual free psycho-social counselling service. The service is available for students of classes 10 and 12 starting from January 6, 2026 to June 1, 2026.

Objective And Timing

With written examinations scheduled to begin on 17 February, the initiative aims to address exam stress and prioritise the emotional well-being of students. The board seeks to ensure that students approach their exams with clarity and confidence.

24x7 IVRS Support

Students can access the service via a centralized toll-free number: 1800-11-8004.

Availability: 24x7 via an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).

Languages: Guidance is available in both Hindi and English.

Services: Students can find answers to FAQs regarding stress-free preparation, time management, and general administrative queries. Essential contact details related to CBSE are also provided through this system.

Live Tele-Counselling With Experts

In addition to the automated system, the board provides direct access to human experts.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

The Team: A total of 73 trained professionals, including principals, counsellors, special educators, and psychologists associated with the CBSE, are available to speak with students and parents.

Global Reach: Out of the 73 professionals, 61 are based in India, while 12 are located internationally in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman and the UAE.

Digital Resources

To further support students, the board has made special materials available on the CBSE website. These resources cover stress management, effective study strategies, and emotional well-being, all of which can be easily accessed by students for their preparation.

Focus On Holistic Well-Being

A senior official stated that the initiative is designed to provide mental and emotional support to both students and their parents. The official emphasised that the board's objective extends beyond ensuring exam success to caring for students' holistic development and mental health, ensuring they can study in a stress-free environment.
