In a major move to strengthen Delhi’s law and order system, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved 26 new infrastructure projects worth Rs 653.46 crore for the Delhi Police. The projects aim to modernise police facilities and enhance the efficiency and welfare of personnel across the national capital.

Under this initiative, 18 new police station buildings, 7 police posts (chowkis), one women’s hostel, and 180 residential quarters for staff will be constructed. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has been entrusted with executing all these projects.

According to officials, the new infrastructure will provide modern, well-equipped workspaces for police personnel, along with gender-sensitive facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for female officers.

The ministry stated that these projects are part of a broader effort to modernise the Delhi Police’s infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and enhance citizen services. The upgraded facilities are expected to bolster policing capabilities and further strengthen law and order and public safety across the city.
