South East District Police have arrested 20 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in a special operation. According to police sources, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Hemant Tiwari, officers from all police stations launched a special operation to apprehend Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the area. This operation ran for two days. Under the operation, Bangladeshis living in various locations while concealing their identity have been caught.
Security Challenge In Delhi-NCR
In fact, for the police in Delhi and the wider NCR, Bangladeshi nationals have become a major security challenge. These individuals infiltrate India and then hide in metropolitan cities, working as scrap collectors. Gradually, these individuals also become involved in theft and other crimes. In most cases, the police apprehend them and deport them to Bangladesh. Only foreign nationals involved in crime are sent to prison.

Press Conference Postponed Pending Interrogation
Following their arrest, a press conference was scheduled at the Deputy Commissioner of Police's office in Sarita Vihar, but it was postponed for certain reasons. It is reported that the press conference was postponed because the interrogation of two of the arrested accused was still pending. Another reason cited is that it was stopped due to a press conference being held at the police headquarters. Dr Hemant Tiwari was contacted by phone regarding this matter, but he could not be reached.
