Delhi Air Pollution: The national capital’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped to the ‘very poor’ category at 342 on Wednesday at 8 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), improving from the ‘severe’ level recorded yesterday, which was above 400. Only three monitoring stations, Aya Nagar, IGI Airport (T3), and Mandir Marg, recorded ‘poor’ air quality today.

Meanwhile, dense fog has gripped the city as winter intensifies, with residents waking up to a temperature of 9 Degree Celsius, which is expected to rise during the day. Delhi Airport has issued an advisory to ensure smooth air travel.

Overall conditions suggest persistent fog throughout the week, with dense fog spells expected around December 26. High humidity and calm wind conditions will continue to limit visibility, particularly during the early morning and late night hours.

From December 24 to 29, fog will remain a dominant feature each day. Moderate fog is expected on December 24, 25, 27, 28 and 29, while dense fog is likely on December 26, significantly affecting visibility during the morning and forenoon. Daytime temperatures will stay between 19 and 20 Degree Celsius , with consistently high humidity sustaining the foggy conditions.
