Rail services to Delhi were severely disrupted on Sunday, with more than 15 trains arriving over two hours late, causing cascading delays in return journeys and inconvenience to daily commuters.
Due to late arrivals, several outbound services from Delhi were also delayed. The Hazrat Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Goa Express departed about 4 hours and 25 minutes behind schedule, while the New Delhi-Darbhanga Humsafar Special left nearly 2 hours and 55 minutes late.

Local and suburban train services were also affected. The Kurukshetra-Hazrat Nizamuddin MEMU was running around 3 hours and 15 minutes late, while the Rewari-Old Delhi Passenger was delayed by over 2 hours. The Panipat-Old Delhi EMU, Kurukshetra-Old Delhi EMU and Jakhal-Old Delhi Passenger were running approximately one hour behind schedule.
Several other local services, including the Dankaur-Shakurbasti EMU, Bulandshahr-Tilak Bridge MEMU, Mathura-Ghaziabad EMU and Panipat-New Delhi Mahila Special EMU, were delayed by around 45 minutes. Trains such as the Ghaziabad-Old Delhi EMU, Jind-New Delhi MEMU, Saharanpur-Old Delhi Passenger and Jind-Old Delhi Passenger were running 15 to 30 minutes late.
Among long-distance trains arriving late in Delhi, the Visakhapatnam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Goa Express was delayed by over eight hours, the Darbhanga-New Delhi Humsafar Special by more than seven hours, the Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express by six hours, and the Barauni-New Delhi Humsafar Special by nearly six hours. The Bengaluru-New Delhi Karnataka Express and the Yesvantpur-Chandigarh Sampark Kranti Express were also running significantly behind schedule.
The delays led to inconvenience for thousands of passengers, particularly daily commuters relying on local and MEMU services.
