A 17-year-old boy was hospitalised on the evening of December 15 after being stabbed during a robbery involving Rs 350 in Kabir Nagar, Delhi. In connection with the incident, four Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs) have been apprehended and an FIR registered under relevant sections for further investigation.

Police at Welcome Police Station received information from Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital on the night of December 15 regarding the admission of the injured teenager, a resident of Kabir Nagar, Delhi. Upon reaching the hospital, the victim stated that around 10 pm, five persons attacked him while he was returning home from tuition and robbed him of Rs 350.

Based on his statement, FIR No. 652/2025 was registered under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for attempt to murder, and investigation was initiated. During the probe, a team led by Inspector Rupesh Khatri, SHO of Welcome Police Station, collected evidence and apprehended four accused aged between 14 and 16 years.

During questioning, the juveniles admitted to their involvement in the crime, and the knife used in the attack was recovered from their possession. Subsequently, Sections 309(6) (robbery with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 311 (robbery/dacoity with a deadly weapon), and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS were added to the FIR. Further investigation is underway.

In a separate incident, a married woman and her lover from Gujarat’s Patan district allegedly murdered a man, dressed his body in her clothes, and set it on fire to stage her own death, police told PTI on Wednesday. The accused, 21-year-old Geeta Ahir and her partner Bharat Ahir, also 21, were arrested from Palanpur railway station while attempting to flee. 

The crime came to light after a half-burnt male body was found near a pond in Jakhotra village of Santalpur taluka on Tuesday night and was later identified as 56-year-old Harjibhai Solanki, a nomadic man from nearby Vauva village.

During questioning, Geeta confessed that the plot was inspired by the film Drishyam and was planned so the couple could escape and start a new life. Police said Solanki was strangled at a secluded spot, transported to the pond, dressed in Geeta’s clothes, and set on fire using petrol. The family initially mistook the corpse for Geeta’s due to her clothes and anklets found on it, but later realized it was a man and alerted police. Further investigation is ongoing.
