On New Year's Eve, passengers travelling to Khatu Shyam created a massive ruckus at the city railway junction after failing to find seats on the Shakurbasti-Phulera train bound for Ringas. The agitated passengers smashed the windows and glass panes of the train stationed at Platform Number 4.

Upon receiving the information, the Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot, but the large crowd continued the disturbance. The police have initiated legal action by registering a case against more than a dozen unidentified individuals.

Passengers Inside

Locked the Doors According to reports, a large number of passengers gathered at the railway platform around 10:30 pm on Wednesday to travel to Ringas for the New Year. Passengers who were already seated inside the train locked the coach doors from the inside, preventing hundreds of waiting passengers from boarding.

Following this, the passengers standing outside began to protest. They started breaking the train's windows and glass from both sides of the platform. Several passengers were also injured during the incident. Although police personnel tried to pacify the crowd, the commotion only intensified.

Vandalism In Front Of Police

The unruly passengers caused significant damage to the train even in the presence of police personnel. The police eventually managed to get the locked doors opened from the inside and helped the passengers board. This finally calmed the crowd. The train departed after a delay of about 30 minutes.

Ashok Kumar, the acting in-charge of the GRP police station, stated that the situation is currently under control. A case has been registered against unidentified persons, and efforts are being made to identify the culprits based on CCTV footage.
