Over 200 people in Outer Delhi have fallen ill in a suspected case of mass food poisoning after consuming dishes made from buckwheat (kuttu) flour.

Officials were alerted after a large number of patients began arriving at the emergency ward of Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital in Jahangirpuri late Monday night. The influx continued until 6 am on Tuesday.

Dr Vishesh Yadav, the Chief Medical Officer at BJRM Hospital, reported that all patients came in with complaints of vomiting. The affected individuals were from several neighborhoods, including Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar.

The hospital administration has confirmed that the condition of all patients is stable. None of the cases were severe enough to require admission, and everyone was discharged after receiving initial medical treatment.
