Assam HSLC Grade III Exam: The second phase written test of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2024 for Grade III posts will be held throughout the state on Sunday, with additional provisions in place to guarantee a smooth and transparent process, according to an official statement. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) would run six pairs of special trains to help applicants prepare for the exam, NFR officials said.
The first phase of the written test for Grade III positions under ADRE took place on September 15, with mobile internet services halted throughout the state for more than three hours to ensure a fair and transparent examination. Approximately 18.50 lakh applicants applied for the different levels of Grade III positions. The examination for bachelor's degree level posts and HSLC level (driver) posts of Grade III will be conducted in the second phase, for which admit cards and instructions for applicants have already been provided, according to the announcement.
JIt stated that certain additional/revised instructions have now been published, including recommending applicants to confirm the location of the test centre a day in advance and to arrive at least one-and-a-half hours before the start of the examination for thorough inspection and frisking. It went on to say that the Home and Political departments had created a standard operating procedure (SOP) for screening candidates.
The SOP follows claims of improper frisking of female candidates during the first portion of the examination, with numerous women reporting that female security officials groped their private areas. For female applicants, separate enclosures would be provided, with one Anganwadi worker/helper or ASHA worker present near the frisking area. According to the statement, if an applicant is frisked improperly, he or she should immediately complain to the centre in charge.
Applicants are recommended to wear half-sleeved clothing and slippers instead of shoes for expedited screening. Candidates will be allowed to keep their question booklets after the exam, and senior-level officers will serve as central observers to ensure the exam runs well, according to the statement. According to an NFR announcement, six pairs of examination special trains will be running on Sunday to assist applicants taking the ADRE exam.
The six customized trains will make 12 runs to help applicants get to and from their destinations. Written ADRE tests for Grade IV positions at two distinct educational levels will be held on two additional occasions, official sources previously stated. They stated that about 13.70 lakh individuals had applied for various Grade IV vacancies. The first ADRE under the State Level Recruitment Commission was held in the state in August 2022, when mobile internet services were halted for four hours in practically all districts on the two days preceding the written tests.
