CBSE 12th Re-evaluation Deadline Extended: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully optimised its Post-Result Activities portal by significantly extending session time limits for online applications. This strategic infrastructure update comes in direct response to critical user feedback and a massive surge in traffic during the platform's initial launch.
On its opening day, the portal handled a heavy load of nearly 14,000 concurrent users and recorded over 28,000 successful submissions by 10:00 PM, resulting in severe processing bottlenecks and unexpected system timeouts for students trying to verify their scores.
The server strain was further worsened by a major malicious Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, which bombarded the board's network with over 1.5 million automated requests within a narrow two-minute window. This cyberattack caused widespread technical disruptions, including page crashes, distorted layouts on mobile devices, and recurring "Login Request Expired" errors.
To resolve these issues and lower student anxiety, CBSE worked with top tech experts to deploy advanced security defenses and extend session timers, giving students plenty of uninterrupted time to complete their forms without being forced to log out.
Cyberattacks and Technical System Optimizations:
To secure the platform against future disruptions, the board formed a specialized cybersecurity task force comprising government security officers and elite tech specialists from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur. This collaborative team successfully mitigated the 1.5-million-hit DDoS attack, repaired the mobile interface layouts, and eliminated the "Verification Failed" errors.
By extending the internal session durations, the board has successfully stopped the issue of students having to resubmit data multiple times due to sudden page expiries.
What Discrepancies Can Students Report?
With the re-evaluation portal now fully stabilised, Class 10 and 12 students who have received their digital answer scripts can log in to report specific evaluation errors. The platform allows students to flag major discrepancies caused by the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, such as entirely missing pages or detached supplementary charts.
Additionally, students can report highly blurred, unreadable digital scans, entirely unchecked answers, or instances where their scripts were evaluated against an incorrect question paper set.

Aspirants can now safely navigate the updated portal by using their primary board credentials, including their roll number, date of birth, and application ID. The board emphasizes that the extended timers now allow students to carefully cross-check every section of their scanned scripts before proceeding to the integrated payment gateway.
Dedicated helpline channels remain fully active to assist students who encounter any further transaction failures or require clarification on structural verification protocols.
CBSE Portal Fee Payment Gateway Guidelines:
To ensure a smooth and hassle-free application process on the Verification and Re-evaluation portal, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has integrated the payment gateways of major financial institutions, including State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank. The board has explicitly clarified that students do not need to hold a personal bank account with these specific banks to complete their transactions. Instead, these institutions simply act as secure processing gateways through which any candidate can easily utilize standard online payment options, such as UPI, Net Banking, or Credit and Debit cards- to finalize their fees.
This streamlined digital payment infrastructure has already proven highly effective in managing the massive wave of applicant traffic. As of 9:30 AM today, nearly 40,000 students have successfully navigated the portal and completed their application submissions without facing any technical glitches or transaction failures.
