CBSE Portal Security:  The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) faced a massive digital disruption today as malicious actors launched targeted cyberattacks against its newly opened Class 12 post-result re-evaluation portal. Despite a heavily coordinated denial-of-service (DoS) attack aimed at crashing the board's digital infrastructure, the system successfully withstood the peak traffic volume without any significant disruption to user services.

Taking to their official social media account on X (formerly Twitter), the CBSE cybersecurity teams shared crucial operational metrics to assure parents and students of the platform's sustained stability. The board emphasized that its technical departments remain on high alert to handle incoming traffic loads while actively neutralising security threats.

Massive Hit Influx and Traffic Analytics:

According to the update released by the cybersecurity team, the re-evaluation portal successfully managed over 8,000 concurrent users at peak capacity. As of 3:00 PM today, more than 16,000 students have completed their verification and re-evaluation submissions.

The threat mitigation teams intercepted a massive denial-of-service attack variant that targeted the server infrastructure, creating an unprecedented surge of 1.5 million hits within a narrow two-minute window. Additionally, the integrated firewalls successfully detected and blocked over 1 lakh unauthorised file access attempts executed by automated bots.

User Feedback and System Refinements

In response to the operational traffic data and direct student feedback received during the initial launch hours, CBSE has rolled out immediate platform updates.

Technical teams have extended session time limits across user dashboards to prevent sudden logouts, making the overall form submission and document verification process far more convenient, robust, and seamless.
