Ghaziabad School Holiday 2026: In view of the Kanwar Yatra, the District Inspector of Schools has issued an official statement stating that all schools in Ghaziabad will remain closed from August 4 to 12. Making sure that the pilgrims do not experience any hassles, the authorities have made several changes in the traffic route across the city. This will affect school operations, causing difficulties for students to reach their respective schools on time. To avoid such circumstances, the authorities have closed all educational institutions until August 12, except for examinations that were scheduled in advance.

What Did the Official Statement Say?
The month of Shravan began on July 30, 2026. The main festival of Shravan is Shivratri and will be celebrated on August 11 across the district. A large number of pilgrims and devotees have been walking on several routes on their course of destination. Keeping in mind students’ safety, the officials have shut all schools and released an official statement that said, “"In compliance with the directions issued by the District Magistrate, Ghaziabad, and with the safety of students in mind, all schools (from Nursery/Class 1 to Class 12) operating under the Basic Education Board, Secondary Education Board, CBSE, ICSE, other affiliated boards, and Madrasa Board shall remain closed from 04-08-2026 to 12-08-2026”.
Furthermore, the Director of Inspector of Schools added, “Similarly, all colleges, universities, and technical institutions operating in the district (government and private) shall also remain closed from 04-08-2026 to 12-08-2026. However, pre-scheduled examinations for any course or subject will continue as planned. Strict compliance with this order shall be ensured”.

The following routes will experience heavy congestion of traffic until August 12, 2026. All residents are therefore advised to follow the guidelines and traffic routes as stated by the authorities to avoid any hassles.

Schools Will Run As Usual In Unaffected Areas
Apart from the affected areas, all schools will run as usual otherwise. Parents and students are advised to remain in contact with their school authorities via group chat and official websites. Refrain from any rumors circulating on social media platforms. Follow the traffic routes to ensure easy travel.
