GATE 2027 Update: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has made linking of the DigiLocker application mandatory before the application process starts on August 14, 2026. Eligible candidates have to create or update their DigiLocker accounts to complete their GATE 2027 registration process. This is done to ensure that the institute can fetch authenticated details of candidates and make the registration process easier.
For GATE 2027, the registration will be held via the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Candidates must submit their applications, upload mandatory documents, and pay the application fee before the deadline through the official portal.

How To Link DigiLocker For GATE 2027 Registration?
Using the following steps, candidates can link their DigiLocker account before the registration starts.
Step 1: Go to the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2: Open the GATE Online Application Processing System portal.
Step 3: When the DigiLocker window appears, select the “Go to DigiLocker” option.
Step 4: Enter your DigiLocker credentials.
Step 5: Allow it to share your verified details with the GATE portal.
GATE 2027 Registration Dates
IIT Madras will begin the GATE registration process on August 14, 2026, via the GOAPS. The application window will close on September 21; however, with a late fee, candidates can register until September 30.
