A total of 7,299 vacancies will be filled in government schools under the School Education and Literacy Department across the state.

JSSC Assistant Acharya Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria And Age Limit

Eligibility varies by post: candidates applying for Classes 1-5 need 10+2 with D.El.Ed. or equivalent along with a valid JTET/CTET, while Classes 6-8 posts require relevant graduation with B.Ed. and a valid Teacher Eligibility Test qualification. Age is calculated as on August 1, 2026, with the minimum age fixed at 21 years for all categories, and maximum age ranging from 35 years for UR/EWS to 40 years for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates for Classes 1-5 posts will appear for three papers totalling 400 marks, while Classes 6-8 candidates will appear for four papers totalling 480 marks, with Paper 1 (Mother Tongue) being qualifying in nature.

Selected candidates for Classes 1-5 posts will receive a salary under Pay Level 4 (Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100), while those for Classes 6-8 will be placed under Pay Level 5 (Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300).
