The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to release the NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key and candidate response sheet soon. The provisional key, question ID access and correct answers are expected to be made available through the applicant login on the official NBEMS website.
As per the information bulletin, the answer key will be published in compliance with the Supreme Court's 2025 order. However, NBEMS has not yet announced a confirmed release date. The provisional answer key is expected by September 10, 2026, allowing candidates to compare their responses and estimate their probable scores before the final results.
What Does NBEMS Notice Say About NEET PG Answer Key?
The NEET PG 2026 information bulletin states that the answer keys will be published in accordance with the directions issued by the Supreme Court in 2025.
Candidates will be able to access their response sheets, question ID numbers and correct answer keys through their applicant login. The availability of these details will allow candidates to review their responses and calculate their estimated marks.
The expected release of a provisional answer key would also provide candidates with an opportunity to raise objections, subject to the procedure and timeline specified by NBEMS.
Will NBEMS Release NEET PG Answer Key Before Results?
The NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key is expected to be released before the declaration of results, unlike the process followed for NEET PG 2025.
For NEET PG 2025, the board released the results first and subsequently made the answer key available along with the scorecards. This year, the expected provisional-key process would allow candidates to review the answers and raise objections before the final evaluation.
However, candidates should wait for an official announcement from NBEMS regarding the exact release date and objection window.
How To Calculate NEET PG 2026 Probable Score?
Candidates can calculate their estimated NEET PG 2026 score by matching the answers marked in their response sheet with the correct answers provided in the provisional answer key.
As per the NEET PG marking scheme, candidates receive four marks for every correct answer, while one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
The formula is:
Probable Score = (Correct Answers × 4) − (Incorrect Answers × 1)
For example, if a candidate answers 150 questions, with 120 correct and 30 incorrect responses, the estimated score will be:
(120 × 4) − (30 × 1) = 450 marks
Candidates should remember that this is only a probable score. The final marks will be determined by NBEMS after considering the final answer key and the applicable evaluation process.
NEET PG 2026 Paper Analysis:
The NEET PG 2026 question paper was described by experts and candidates as being of moderate difficulty.
The paper reportedly placed greater emphasis on image interpretation, investigations, treatment and clinical decision-making. Candidates indicated that simply relying on rote learning was not sufficient, with greater importance placed on conceptual understanding and clinical application.
The final NEET PG 2026 score and ranking, however, will be determined only after the official evaluation process is completed by NBEMS.
