NEET UG Dress Code 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for candidates appearing for the NEET UG re-exam on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The exam will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM at various exam centers across the country under strict security measures. The agency has advised candidates to wear simple and comfortable clothing and avoid carrying any prohibited items on the exam day. Moreover, following the advisory issued by NTA is mandatory for all candidates appearing for the medical entrance examination on Sunday. However, those who fail to abide by the NEET UG guidelines have to undergo additional security checks or may not be allowed to enter the NEET exam hall.
NEET UG Dress Code 2026: What Female Candidates Must Wear?
As per the NTA advisory, female candidates may prefer wearing half-sleeved kurtis or T-shirts on the exam day. Plain leggings, trousers, or salwar with slippers or low-heeled sandals must be preferred for the June 21 test. Avoid wearing jewellery such as earrings, necklaces, bangles and bracelets. Additionally, belts and hair accessories must also be avoided for the exam.
Dress Code For Male Candidates
Here are the dress rules for male candidates appearing for the exam.
Half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts
Plain trousers or pants
Light-coloured and simple clothes
Slippers or sandals with thin or low heels
However, NTA has stated that candidates wearing religious or customary attire such as a turban, hijab, or burqa are allowed to sit for the exam. Such candidates will have to undergo an additional frisking and security checks before the exam.
Biometric Verification Mandatory For Re-NEET 2026
NTA has clarified that all candidates appearing for the exam on June 21 must undergo biometric verification before entering the examination hall. This includes:
Fingerprint verification
Facial recognition verification
Identity authentication
In situations where this biometric verification is not possible due to technical glitches, candidates will be allowed to sit for the exam after filling out a declaration form provided at the exam center. NTA has ensured candidates that the biometric verification will not cause any inconvenience and, if necessary, will be completed before or after the exam.
