CBSE Board Exam 2027: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) started the registration process for Class 10 and 12 private candidates today, October 8, 2026. Candidates who are eligible for this can apply for it on the official website of the CBSE, cbse.gov.in.

As per the notification released by CBSE, the board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 are scheduled to be held in February, March, and April 2027. Hence, the candidates who are going to appear in the board examination in a private capacity should get registered and pay the necessary examination fees.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For The CBSE 2027 Exam As A Private Student?

Below is a list of eligible student groups according to the board:

-Students who appeared for the 2026 board exams and are placed under the "Essential Repeat" category.

-Students from Classes 10 & 12 who have been put in the "Compartment" category during the 2026 additional examinations are regarded as the second-chance compartment students.

- Students who failed or got "Essential Repeat" grades in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

- Students willing to improve their scores in one or several subjects after having passed Class 10 or Class 12 in the 2025-2026 academic session.

 Note:  While filling out the application form, students should check if they are eligible or not. The exam syllabus is also available at the CBSE academic website cbseacademic.nic.in.

CBSE Private Candidates 2027 Registration: How To Apply?

1. First go to the official CBSE website cbse.gov.in.


2. Then, open the “व्यक्तिगत परीक्षार्थी” link for private candidates.

3. Next, choose the appropriate applicant category and Class 10 or Class 12 exam.

4. Enter your personal information and the necessary exam.

5. The system will automatically create several details for candidates who took the 2026 exam. Details like their roll number and year of passing must be entered by those who appeared in 2025 or earlier.

6. Enter the roll number, school number, and center number as indicated on the marksheet, if applicable.

7. Decide on the exam city and necessary subjects.

8. Upload the picture in the format specified.

9. Pay the examination fee online.

10. Finally, submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

CBSE has advised candidates to choose the examination city carefully because the centre city selected and allotted cannot subsequently be changed.
